1. How far can the Transmitter and Receiver be installed from one another?The EVO™ can communicate up to 200 yards between the two devices. Site conditions may reduce or increase this distance.

2. Can the EVO™ communicate to multiple field units (Thrive Receivers)?No, the EVO™ comes pre-paired and has a 1-1 ratio between transmitter and receiving units.

3. Can I mount multiple Thrive Transmitters to a single controller?Yes, up to four (4) separate EVO’s can be installed in one location without interference between devices.

4. What is the maximum distance a valve can be located from the Receiver?It’s dependent on the distance required and size of wire being installed, see chart below:

5. Can I mount the Thrive Receiver somewhere other than the top of the valve box lid?Yes, we recommend that the unit be installed to the bottom of the valve box lid as show in the Installation Manual. However if you choose to mount the Receiver somewhere else be sure to keep the same orientation as shown in the Installation Instructions. Make sure that the ‘Ribs’ are always facing up toward the sky and the LEDs are facing down toward the ground. DO NOT MOUNT SIDEWAYS

6. Does the product require any field programming of radios?No, the Transmitter and Receiver are paired by Thrive prior to shipping.

7. Is this product use “line-of-sight” radios”?No, The LoRa radio can penetrate most site features including mature landscapes and some changes in elevation.

8. Can I actuate two valves (solenoids) from one station wire?No, we encourage our customers to only actuate 4 stations per EVO™ with one valve per station wire.

9. What type of solenoids are used with the Receiver?DC latching solenoids only. These will be specific to the valve manufacturer in use.

10. Is the EVO™ Transmitter an irrigation controller?No, The Thrive EVO is simply another path of communication between an irrigation controller and existing or new remote-control valves in the field – it’s just wireless.

11. Can I mount the Thrive Transmitter inside a metal enclosure?Yes, thrive offers a pancake antenna that replaces the standard antenna. Mount the pancake antenna on the outside of the metal pedestal to get advertised distance results.

12. Can the Transmitter be mounted away from an irrigation controller for improved signal strength?Yes, the Transmitter can be located up to 100 feet away from an irrigation controller if necessary.

13. My controller does not have a 24 VAC auxiliary output, what can I do?You may purchase a 120-volt to 24 VAC, step-down transformer from your local irrigation distributor and power the Transmitter with this device.

14. How long are the Lithium batteries expected to last?The product is shipped w/ Lithium batteries and are expected to last 1 season in sunbelt states, possibly longer depending on the frequency of irrigation.

15. Can Alkali batteries be used instead of Lithium batteries?Yes, they are expected to have a much shorter service life.

16. Can I mix and match Alkali and Lithium batteries?No, this will void the product warranty. Always replace both batteries no matter the type used.

17. What is the maximum field wire length that can be installed from a Receiver to a remote-control valve?It’s dependent on the distance required and size of wire being installed, see chart below:

Is the EVO™ compatible with two wire systems?The EVO™ is compatible with the following 2-Wire controllers: Rainbird, ESP-LXD Series Two-Wire Decoder Controller Hunter, ACC 99D Two-Wire Controller Hunter, ACC2 Decoder Controller Hydropoint, WeatherTRAK Two-Wire PBT (OLD STLYE) Known Incompatible 2-Wire Controllers are: Rainbird, ESP-LXIVM 2-Wire Controller with Smart Valve Technology ** Hydropoint, WeatherTRAK H20 (NEW STYLE) **Compatible only if 1) Electrical alerts are turned off and 2) Two-wire Decoder 2 station module.
